Updated COVID-19 Directives
February 28, 2021

The Chief Public Health Office has implemented more strict measures for the next 72 hours effective immediately until midnight on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. These measures are to address the possibility of community spread of COVID-19 on PEI. These strict Public Health measures will have the following impact on CHANCES programs and will be effective immediately.

Smart Start: Childcare centres will remain open. Procedures will continue as they have been, with child drop off/pick up/screening taking place outside. Masks must be worn during these times by both staff and parents/guardians, and all are encouraged to maintain proper physical distance whenever possible.

Smart Play: All Smart Play programs will open tomorrow, March 1, for full day programming for the next three days.

CAPC/CPNP: All in person CAPC/CPNP programs will be suspended until midnight on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

Best Start: In-person Best Start visits are suspended until March 3, 2021.

Health Clinic: As an essential service, our health clinic will remain open with an emphasis on virtual care and minimizing in-person contact.

Administration: Administrative offices will be closed to the public until at least March 4.

Contact Tracing: In addition to required screening policies already in place, all CHANCES locations will keep a running log of any individual entering the building (first & last name, time in, time out and contact information).

These measures will remain in place until end of day March 3, 2021. Any changes in these CHANCES measures will take place based on the direction of the Chief Public Health Office, and we will keep you informed of these changes. We thank you for your cooperation, and we are confident that together we will move forward safely.
